Based in Halifax, Robin works with producers from across the country and has been production executive on a variety of drama and documentary programs including:  Engraved on A Nation (eight original documentaries commissioned in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Grey Cup); The Borgias (Take 5) ; The Listener (Shaftesbury);  Men of the Deeps (John Walker/Picture Plant/NFB); Forgiveness: Stories for Our Time (Wild East/NFB) which won best Documentary at Hot Docs in 2007; and Eight Days To Live (Shaftesbury) which at the time it aired garnered the largest audience for an original movie in Canadian TV history.

About

Robin Johnston rejoined Bell Media in 2010 having worked for CTV as Head of Independent Production for Atlantic Canada from 2001-2008. Reporting to Senior Vice President Corrie Coe, Robin is part of Bell Media's national independent production team, working with Canadian production companies to develop unscripted projects for the CTV and Bell Media’s specialty channels (all except Discovery).

 

Formerly a producer and story editor, before rejoining Bell Media Robin produced 52 episodes of Artzooka! for CBC and Nickelodeon Germany.  The series won the Youth Media Alliance Award of Excellence and has sold internationally. Among her producer credits she also show produced CBC's Street Cents for five years which was twice nominated and once won an International Emmy Award during her tenure. Robin is currently production executive on The Amazing Race Canada which is the highest rated Canadian series on record; and on MasterChef Canada which launched in January 2014.
