Jim Buchan is General Manager of FOXTEL Networks Australia’s factual channels group. He is responsible for brand strategy, marketing, programming, promotion, content acquisitions and local production commissions.

These channel brands include Bio, Crime & Investigation Network, the History Channel as well as the recently launched A&E Australia channel showcasing the best ‘real life’, ‘risk vs. reward’ personality driven content available on Australian television now Australia’s #1 and fastest growing factual Channel.

Jim Buchan’s television career began in programming at the beginning of subscription television in Australia at the pre-launch, Optus Vision group in 1995.

In 1996 he moved to Network Ten, for 4 years, working across programming, research and regional content sales before joining FOXTEL in 2001 as Program Manager for the History Channel.

In 2004 he launched the Biography Channel and Crime & Investigation Network (CI) the following year as channel manager. Most recently launching A&E Australia in February 2012.
